Ok, I dont know who all has been reading my problems, so to make a long story short, my car overheated, cracked the head so I had to get a new/used motor. I patched the crack on my radiator until I get a new one and when I start the vehicle it sounds great, when I give it gas it almost dies or does die, then after a little while after playing with the throttle it will rev up, but if I let it idle and then hit the gas, it goes back to the problem. The only code that was thrown is egr temp sensor, which I replaced and it didnt make a difference, the same code is thrown sometimes, other times the CEL isnt on. The only other code thrown was that my #2 gear (ATX) is not responding, but I doubt that is the case, I believe it is being thrown for another reason. Any thoughts? and my radiator question is, what other vehicles (y,m,m) have the same radiator? Thanks I need help!!! 2000 G20 sr20

Whenever we see owners allowing a destructive overheat due to lack of timely examination AND periodic mainteance and repairs, we wonder what else has been damaged beyond the obvious.

For example the AT is cooled thru the rad therefore it is likely that the engine overheat also trashed the transmission.

Examine every sensor on the replacement engine and especially any reused part from the old.

1-800- RAD offers aftermarket replacements that while providing 90-95% equivalence are usally good enough for a few years.

haha, thanks I will, however I didnt "allow" my car to over heat. My wife drove it to pick me up from work which was over 4300ft above sealevel with the a/c on. That is what happened thanks tho.... However the CEL went off, I really dont think the transmission is screwed, atmost it overheated for 3 minutes, but who knows, I will keep posting what I find. Keep the useful advice coming and thanks

Wife should be strung up and severely punished for allowing Q to overheat!
