hmm i was referring to the driver side wheelwell. i think my truck is missing the emissions "pancake" and a diaphram by the intake tube. can anyone with a 97 tell me what it looks like under their hood?

Looks fully intact. Nissan used the same inner fender supports on all trucks. Stuff may bolt up there for a V6 model.

The Air Injection Filter or P.A.I.R filter setup is missing. Not sure if they did away with that after 95 or not. Mine has it.

96-97 OBD2 trucks have the naked LH inner fender.Nothing is missing.Your starting problem sounds like the check ball in the fuel pump doesn't work.Check your residule pressure after shutting off the engine,if it drops rapidly to zero then replace the fuel pump.

I'd be happy to provide a picture of my 97 KA24E engine once its put back together, give me a day or so. I'm about to replace my chain guides. Looks good though - the empty space on the right side is how mine is as well. I used the holes provided to attach my air horn however. Look good! Real clean! Haha, happy truckin'!

thread back from the dead....

the p/o thought it was the fuel pump, changed it, that did nothing. no codes.

if i try to start the truck in the morning or after it sits for 3-4 hours i have to turn on the electric, wait for 10 seconds, then crank the motor and tap the gas.otherwise it runs fine.

ive been dealing with it, for the last 9000 miles (its at 84 i bought it at 75k in june)

There is a relay for the fuel pump, that might be it.
