Can anyone post a picture of the location of the exhaust manifold on the J30?

My Mother owns one, and her manifold is cracked (not sure which side). The dealer tells her that it's going to be between $4k and $6k to fix it!!!! Really????

I told her I would change it for her for free if she got the part, but she lives in Oakland and I am in San Diego so I can't exactly peek under her hood, or car for that matter at the moment.

Thanks

I KNOW!!!! I jumped out of my seat when she told me that over the phone!

She might be able to find a used manifold for $100 or so (if its still useable) or buy a new one for about $300. If I can see where it is located and how "serviceable" it is, I can put it in for her for FREE in her driveway and get her a smog certificate that same day!

When I heard that price I though..."jeesus does the engine need to be pulled?"

Any help is appreciated, especially a pic or pics

bro i have a 95 j30 and it had cracked manifold when i bought the car. they told me it was just an exaust leak. it ended up costing me a little over 2 grand for the manifolds and install. but it is not an easy thing to do. with that engine you have to compleatly pull out the motor to get to them. at the place where i took mine it took them 4 days to get it done. it is not an easy or cheap fix, it going to take some money or alot of your time
