I desperately want to ditch the frigging stock exhaust on my R50....that damn heat shield has rattled since the day I bought it and it's too quiet. I already hacked the exhaust off to the rear of the main muffler (is that really TWO mufflers or is the rear one a resonator??) for the main purpose of gaining a better departure angle (went hand in hand with losing the hitch reciever and spare tire)...anyway, it's already cut up, so I'm just gonna lose the stock muffler (and tear off that f**king shield while I'm at it)..so I'm gonna run something, but I want it loud...but no fart can. There's a video of on YouTube of a dude with a 3.0 with a 40 Series Flowmaster on his and it sounds AWESOME! I was considering throwing on a Cherry Bomb or Purple Horny, but I don't know that the 3.5 moves enough air to make it sound good. My brother tossed my old Bombs on his 5.7 Tahoe and it sounds great, but...like I said...I don't know that my motor moves enough air for it. So who's running what, and what does it sound like? Like I said, I want something agressive...(I'd love to duplicate the sound of my wife's old GMC Sierra with a Flowmaster system on it...that was great)...Any input? Thanks

Seriously! Why won't anyone reply? There has to be people with R50's and exhausts.

yeah im considering doing an upgrade too since ive got a leak in my exhaust. I want to keep it single out exhaust....you guys think this would be an OK job for canadian tire and would i be stupid to use cherry bomb or magnaflow? i want a deeper tone and a little louder but truckey sounding. WOT has the best sounding exhaust ive ever heard...he posted it on here a few months ago.

I've got exhaust . Its pretty deep for a R50 and its sound awesome when you floor it. I'll get some when i reverse/tap on gas and flooring it later on.

I talked to one of the local exhaust shops and he's gonna weld up a cat back for me for $285 out the door. Sweet...

Running Magnaflow, the rear looking muffler is just a resonator (you dont need it). Sounds good but not too loud.

I did my exhaust from the headers all the way back at the beginning of June. It sounds amazing.

My setup, Magnaflow with dual in, dual out. Sounds amazing, Im trying to record the sound so that you guys can hear it but my camera doesn't take the greatest audio recordings. But it sounds really good, it has a deep tone. Did a dual out http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3310765/9 is where you'll find the pictures.

I had to take the spare out, but with the rims and tires, i was like i'll ditch the spare. If I get a flat well I'll get it towed. Plus, look on the bright side, its 1 tire less I have to take around.

The cost was about $1400, Master Performance down on Kennedy Road in Brampton. All stainless steel with the Magnaflow muffler and Magnaflow dual exhaust tips.

$1400 ..... DOLLARS?

I always feel broke when I have to build everything myself and cant afford to just drop it off at shops

So did you ditch the cats and resonators from the factory setup, or did they start behind them

Yea, I know 1400 sounds like a lot. I did from the cats back, no resonators. I had a leak in the muffler and the resonator and the tailpipe fell off after a trip to NY. It sounded like a winter beater so I had to get something done.

The cost was up there cuz its all stainless steel piping. Its all custom. Im a DIY'er too but this a little out of my scope, especially with pipe bending, you wanna make sure that gets done correctly cuz you dont want any restrictions.

I was there when they did the whole thing and it took a good 4 - 5 hours, Fabricating, positioning and welding.

It was definately a lot of money, but I was willing to give it up to get the good stuff.

Holy hell! With installation, taxes & everything my Magnaflow came out to less than $200. I don't have stainless but I had everything replaced from the exhaust manifolds on out. Muffler USA here in Greensboro, NC, good people - if you are near this area check them out.

Yea hopefully this meet does go somewhere, I need someone who's got a good audio recording device to record the sound so it can be shared with everyone.

Bosal muffler and resonator. I love how the bosal sounds, likely less noise than a magnaflow or any other brands and only has the throaty sound on start up and idle, never while moving.
