Hello all,
For about a month now, the Cooling fan runs at full blast where ever i go. I have done a search and I did not find any information on this. I seem to have misplaced my service manual so any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Andy

Sounds like the resistor pack is blown.Ive had the same thing happen in other cars.Surely someone will chime in and know where its located on the J.Normally its behind the glove box where the blower is.When its blown the full 12 volts goes through instead of resistors stepping it down for the other three speeds.
The technical name is Darlington resistor. actually transistors.

even though the J30 fan is belt driven its till controlled by the resistors? Ill check it out.
-- also the fan seems to only rev up with the engine, almost like it spins faster with increasing RPM. could this be because the belt is too tight(doubt it though)?

you will need a new fan cluth. The cluth is silicon coupled wihch will make the fan turn faster when temp increases. Sounds like your fan is always coupled.
I recommend OEM fan cluth as I have heard many bad experience about aftermarket units.
