Ok I just bought a Nissan pickup off CL and I thought about getting one of those fuel chips for it to save some money on gas... I say these as I google'd. Just needed some options on if I should buy or not... and what do they really do....

If you read the description, it merely alters the intake air temperature sensor reading. If it was safe and/or effective to do this and achieve more power, the factory would have built that kind of programming into the ECU already. Simple rule: If it sounds too good to be true, it is...

Save your money, there is no magic chip, change your driving habits as well as perform maintenance. That is a start.

reverand D speaks the truth. This is a lead balloon and you money is better spent on exhaust systems, air intakes and adjusting your driving habits.

What year did you get? I know on my '97 replacing the front O2 sensor helped my fuel economy dramatically... got me from 17 to 18MPG to low 20s. Some get a little better mileage, but I'm not willing to drive it gently or sweat. I have the 2WD 2.4L with a 5MT. I replaced mine at 105K and the old one checked fine - but apparently they get a little sluggish and it has more of an impact on the truck than most cars for some reason.

The Denso direct fit on http://www.sparkplugs.com was great. Literally 10 minutes hood up to hood down installing it.
