I have a 93 GXE - VG engine. I replaced the #5 fuel injector with a new one. When I put everything back together the car won't start. The cylinders are full of gas resulting in a hydrostatic lock. I checked my spark plugs and they're working. Any ideas?

Fuel injector o-ring. It likely isn't seated correctly. You'll need to pull that injector out again and make sure the o-ring is still in good shape. If so, lightly lube the o-rings and put the injector back in. You should feel it seat pretty snugly when it pops in. That should fix your issue.

Also, you'll also need to drain the oil and put new oil in. The fuel that leaked into the engine will drain past the pistons into the oil ruining it. Definitely DO NOT forget to do this!!!

I actually had the exact same thing happen to me in the past.

hey, thanks. Yep, it was the O-ring, the one on the bottom of the injector. Should I be concerned about the O-rings that are in the lower manifold that the fuel rail mounts into? Thanks again!

If they look worn out I would replace them. They won't cause any nasty fuel leaks but will cause a vacuum leak causing the engine to run poorly.

Thanks for the compliments, I really appreciate it!

I just love the VG30E engines and study them as much as I can. They are old technology but can pack a mean punch when modified, they're pretty reliable, inexpensive, and the list goes on. I'm actually working on putting one in my Z32 that I'm very confident will take on many DETT powered Z32's.
