thats kind of a judgement call in my opinion. with ebay you run the typical risks of getting a sub-par product and paying out the butt to ship it back and get a new one, granted the seller will even let you. but if it works out well, you saved some cash. if you go to a local place, then youre gonna pay more, probably save the shipping charges and have an actual face-to-face person you can go back and deal with if the brush guard is crap, thus usually resulting in a better chance of getting the product replaced or getting a refund. its your call wether or not its worth the risk.
i bought one from hunter on ebay.but i dont see one for a 98 from them.its built pretty good and bolts right where the tow hooks are.you can try to call them to see if they just dont list it.
I'd go for the Wincher bumper, but then again I do a good bit of offroading & don't mind a bit of extra weight & protection on the front end but if you aren't planning on going offroad, go with the brush guard.

He can't get one. I don't think ARB makes a bumper for 96-99 R50's. Only 87-95 & 99.5-2004.
TJM use to make a bumper for the 96-99 R50 though.
