ka24de+ 75 shot vs 300hp mustang conversation

OK! check this out.. I have two 240's... One of them has the ka24det the other one has a ka24de with highflow cat, a catback and a intake with j30 diff.. I'm bout to install a 75 wet shot on the it.. A couple of my buddies made a bet with me sayin i couldn't out run a 300hp 2004 mustang... I didnt promise I would out run him, but I did say if I lost it wouldn't be by much... Honestly do u think I will even have a chance?

probably not, is it manual vs manual? If you are a manual and he is an auto, it would be closer, but I still think you would get beat.

Well, hold a sec, which car are you racing against the Mustang? The KA-T or the N/A one? And which one are you putting the 75 shot on? Have you dynoed either one of the cars to see what they are putting down?

I say if you install the NOS on the N/A 240, you lose.If you install the NOS on the KA-T, and the turbo is pushing some decent boost and its tuned properly, you will win...

But WHP figures would help this debate quite a bit...

Im puttin the 75 shot on the na ka.. Im not going to spray my kat. I can out run him with that car already.. I was thinkin I wouldnt do 2 bad.. I had a stock ka24de.. with stock intake stock exhaust stock everything with a 60 shot. and i could out run 2006 gt mustangs giving them one car lenght

Unless u can break over 1.5 secs off ur 1/4 with only a 75 shot. Good luck. You will lose most def.

if it was a 1/4 mile race, u'd lose. but since rustangs have ****ty gearing and the t5 is a junk box, you would most definately have a better chance from a roll.

LOL! yall were right. Even though I didnt want to believe yall.. we went from a rollin start.. from 15 to bout 95 mph.. all he had ahead of me was a fender.. I think I did pretty well though. I mean a stock engine wit catback and header. stock intake with j30 diff and underdrive pulley with a 75 shot vs a 300hp 2004 mustang gt.. I hate using nitrous but, it was just all fun and games..because nothing is better then hearing something spool up and blow off

during June the 25 and 26 is any 240's comin to scrappin the coast..( Biloxi mississippi down by the beach)there are never any 240's out there..biggest car show on the coast.. burnouts and drag racing during the night at the afterparty @ dragstrip

if you only lost by a fender, that mustang isn't as powerful as you say, or he sucks at driving and you are amazing...i would think he would have had you by about a full car or so... you should go from a dig...15mph dosen't make that much of a diff...if you are going to spin at 0 you are going to spin at 15 imo... but none the less, good race if you hung in there

honestly i had a 96 ka with a short ram intake and a 75 dry shot (zex) kit and nothing else and i took many of gt mustangs....but i did lose against some....if you have a good reaction you should be fine...would be nice to see what is the outcome.

First off let me say hats off to you and secondly the mustang is probably rated at 300hp at the crank and is probably seeing about 270-275 at the wheels but the 240 is amazing in top end especially in 3rd and 4th gear I took on a v6 mustang doing a roll from about 70 put it in 3rd and left him shortly after putting it in 4th i'm running a K&N CAI Megan racing header and I have it straight piped straight back

i dont know why everyone thinkgs mustangs are fast.... ive seen many run 14.2 at around 100 stock, with a good driver ive seen a 13.9. thats not really fast at all. if u take into account the weight of the mustang 3800+ lbs with only 300hp and crap gearing then from a roll it would be possible to only lose by a car or so

14.2 is faster than ANY bolt on KA can run. Ive was racing NA KA for over 2 years with every bolt on possible. Mustang GT's were just out of my league. My fastest time was 15.0

It's a whole nother Ka when it's on gas I recently raced a 2005 gt mustang from like a 60 roll on the gas and pulled off on him.... That pissed him off so bad.... he stop by the gas station to see what i had done... LOL! i told him it was all stock I just had a k&N filter......

And you are wrong about the KA being way heavier than the SR. Theres only a 40lb difference between the two.

sorry but you'll probably get owned. get headers first be4 the nos so the engine can breathe and make the most out of that 75 shot. and make sure you use the proper plugs so you dont get detination
