Alright guys, I'm having some problems here.

I need to replace the driver's side door lock in my 1995 240, so I'm trying to remove the door handle since I figure this is the easiest way to get the lock out. I've removed the door panel. I've also removed the 2 nuts, on each side of the handle, that keep the handle bolted to the door as well as the linkages connecting to the lock and handle.

The problem is I still can't get the handle out. It looks like the lever that connects to the linkage that opens the door is hitting on the door panel. Also, there's no room to just flip the handle back towards the interior of the car and then pull it out that way.

Does anyone know how to get the handle out?

I've seen that diagram in the fsm already... I don't see how it helps.

I was thinking though. Can the handle even be removed with the inner door skin( the thing the window motor mounts to) still on?

The thing my finger is touching is what I'm talking about.

Nevermind. There's a spring loaded clip that goes around the lock cylinder. When you undo this, the lock slides out then you just put the new one in. The handle does not have to be removed.
