Hi everybody!

I'm from brazil! I just bought my new tiida 1.8 S automatic. i'm luvin it.

I changed the stock 185 tires and put Bridgestones 205/60. It looks better and the handling as well.

It's with only 200 miles completed. The manual says that i shouldn't rev it up to more than 4000 rpm during the first 1200 miles. I'm holding my foot. haha

As we know, the "S" version (mine) don't came with the f*ckin armrests and i decided to buy it on ebay, it appears to be good. Hope the guy on ebay send it as soon as possible.

Congrats & Welcome.

Armrest info is available on this thread: zerothread?id=250211

I have one installed and it seem to be fine, but the hinge is not quite as beefy as a stock armrest. Just don't flip it open hard and it should be fine.

How long did it take to install? I miss having an armrest so this just moved to the top of the list of things to get for the car.

How long has the Tiida been in Brazil? Though I saw quite a few Honda Fits, I don't remember seeing ANY Nissans (or a Nissan dealership) last time I was down in SP.

Since july/07!

There is a few Tiidas at brazilian streets yet. Mainly in SP.

But nissan is very strong here with the small trucks Frontier.

Nissan is in Brazil since 1998 and installed the first Renault/Nissan factory in the world in 2001. Producing Megane, Frontier and Xterra.

For sure.. but it will be very difficult to get these badges(or any nissan part) in my dealer. They don't have anything i want, like fog lights, armrest. There is only one Nissan dealer in my city/state.

But i will go there soon at the 1000 miles revision and i can ask if they have it..

Do u want the "TIIDA" badge right?

Quick install. Just mounts in the front cupholder behind the e-brake handle. 4 screws for the base and then four more for the armrest. A Must Have item in my book.

Looks like you also got tinted windows. Did you add that or does it come standard because of the hot climate? I just had two guys start working here in my office in Minnesota that are from Sao Paulo. Both are named Bruno.

Hey Guigow...

I know this is completely random, but last night I was talking to a friend about when we lived in Salvador. Anyway, the stadium that is in Cajazeiras is the Barradão, right? And Vitória plays there?

thanks in advance

That is a badge from China. The first two characters say Dongfeng (as in Dongfeng motor corporation) and the last two are what Nissan is called in Chinese.

Welcome to your first post! rofl!

Oh the random stuff that eBay offers... Here's a question... why are they combining Dongfeng and Nissan?

My guess is that Nissan sees it as a huge business opportunity. They put some money in now in return for a piece of the pie when this company (who makes buses and stuff in China) starts to make big money. Also, it gives them a foothold in a country where people are becoming able to afford their own cars at an unprecedented rate.

China doesn't have a huge number of (successful) auto companies, and the ones that are (this one included) are government-backed. This means a lot in a pseudo-communist country.

By the way, thanks for the welcome!

Thanks for the explanation and welcome. Dongfeng, well that's a marketable name isn't it? Sounds like a fungus growing somewhere private.

I'm sure that it is in China. Chinese is all about using words to create images. I'm sure that their marketing people have seriously overplayed all 'east wind' references imaginable.

Oh my god it's amazing i'm hearing this question at this forum.. LOL

The stadium is Barradão and Esporte Clube Vitória plays there.. But it's a poor 3rd world stadium. The neighborhood is not exactly "Cajazeiras" it's in "Pau da Lima", it's a suburban area, very poor neighborhood.

The biggest stadium in Salvador is "Fonte Nova" and it's public. Esporte Clube Bahia played there but it will be demolished. They will construct a new one in the same place for the 2014 World Cup (soccer).

BTW, you lived here doing what exactly? I see a lot of north americans here in Salvador but they were missionaries, many times in Mc Donalds. haha!
