First off i'm not talking about airsoft. I'm talking about air powered pellet rifles whether they be pump, CO2, piston spring etc.

Living in a semi-residential area i'm not in the best position to get an actual rifle and shoot stuff in the backyard. But i had an urge to start target shooting.

I've currently got a Remington Airmaster 77, box specs say 775fps with a .177 pellet. Couple up with a Gamo Airgun scope i can get 1" groups at around 75ft.

Good fun though. I'm thinking of getting one of the Gamo CFX guns, it's a 1000fps springer that has pretty good reviews.

Anybody else shoot off air guns?

haha

sweet...I used to...now I just use my 10/22

the big airguns are fun though....I miss my old Crossman model 35...the all metal ones...so sweet.

all the smaller ones are made of plastic anymore

I had so many dead animals in my backyard as a kid...

Alright, Got another gun in yesterday. I did end up ordering that Gamo CFX air rifle. It's an underlever, fixed barrel, rotary breech setup. Here's a pic

Compared to the remington, this thing is insane. It just came in yesterday and i haven't had much time to shoot it, but one of the first things i tested was the power of it. From 20 feet it will shoot clean through an empty beer keg(one of them 5liter ones). In ~50 shots the other gun only got 3 inside the keg.

Now just to find time to play with it some more.

Mr1der here's a link to where i got it fromhttp://pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/...earch

Base model is $199.95 with free shipping. It's available in either .177 or .22. They only sell .22 as the combo though, the combo scope isn't bad... but it's not that great either.

As far as shooting range, pellet drop is negligible till about 35~40 yards and it's said to be capable of killing a crow at 50 yards. I can't find any numbers on max accurate range, but that site lists it as being able to do .20" 5 shot groups at 30 yards!

After i got home from work, i spent about 1.5 hr shooting with it. It's really a nice gun, only complaint i've got is there wasn't any threadlock on the elevation screw for the rear sight... it started coming loose and all of a sudden i'm shooting WAY over the target, but that's a quick and simple fix.
