NICO is proud to be the FIRST and ONLY place you can see this:
Image

And a lightened version, for added detail:
Image

This pic was taken at an undisclosed location in the US by our "Photo Ninja".

Additional photos were not possible due to intervention by a Porsche 911 "chase car" - Both cars sped away on sight of the camera.

As best as we can tell, this appears to be a GTR test mule, as evidenced by the unfinished appearance of the rear exhaust outlets as well as the unfinished appearance of the rear bumper.

The "donor" car (at least from the decklid and spoiler) appears to be a pre-2006 model.

The body creases below the taillights carry on across and along the sides of the car.

There appears to be a rear underbody diffuser of some sort.

The tailpipes appear to be fully functional, approximately 2.5" in diameter each, which hints at a forced-induction powerplant.

Front and rear track width are significantly widened, obviously to accomodate GTR underpinnings, but also further confirming possible styling cues for the next-generation G.

Feel free to link to this thread elsewhere - Stay tuned for more info as it comes available.

Just remember where you saw it FIRST.

Awesome!

Note the rough metal "diffuser" tray that goes from left to right below the exhaust tips.

Reminiscent of the valence on the 2nd gen NSX.

That is really cool taht Nico got the pix first.

I'm not too keen on the rear end however it is a totally unfinished car so I'm assuming that it will only get better looking as it gets closer to production.

Good score.

The body is JUST to cover the underpinnings - That's pretty common for a manufacturer to disguise the actual car underneath with a body of a completely different car.

You're not looking at a "concept car" or a "redesign" here...

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. Its like when you see spy shots of vehicles in Detroit with all sorts of werid body cladding and bonnets and fabric covers to mask the actual look of the car.

Yes, but by the picture, the body panels are molded/fixed. No cloth or tape there. Since the GT-R is relatively the same size/shape as the G35c, then it makes sense that they would use a modified G35c "body" to test everything.

Those quad exhausts with diffuser look beastly.

I love it.

Note how much wider the new "spy" photo is.

They pretty much just took the G35 trunk and lights and pasted them onto the new GTR body. Look at how badly the lights fit to the body...

no, i dont think so. i think the bad fit is because of the giant fiberglass/plastic widebody rear bumper. the trunk lid looks okay in comparison to the lights.

yah, but that has nothing to do with the rear fenders and how far theyextend past where the lights would normally go out to (even in relationto the trunk).

yep i see them all the time. saw a mazda or a toyota (it was night, couldnt clearly see the badge on the back) about a month ago cruising a highway around here. he would drive up a couple miles, turn around and do it all over again. they are usually completely covered in canvas with mesh over the lights so you cant really see the lines. i guess since they were using a g35 they really didnt need to hide much. it looks a lot wider than the current g35. im excited

what im saying is, is that truly the new gt-r body or just a widebody fiberglass mockup to cover the wider running gear?

I would say it is probably a wide-body G35 running the drivetrain...

Then again, who knows?

^^ i second that notion. why have the true gt-r sides, front, etc and the rest of a g35? it has to be a mockup solution to cover the drivetrain.

but whoever saw the sides and front of the car knows for sure.

highly possible that it is a mock up, but from the unfinished look ofthe G35 parts bolted onto there and the smooth, finished, painted, andcompletely lined up look of the rear fenders and their integration into thepillars... I don't know, I think its all speculation until we have some info which is more conclusive than a spy photo of some hot girls a$s
