As weird as it may seem, Nissan actually makes a part that plugs that up. I've already plugged my up, but was interested in the plug that's actually made for it. Figure it would look much better.I went to the local Nissan dealer and they parts guy looked at me like I was stupid and said they wouldn't make such a thing. He's full of it and I know for a fact that it exists. That's why I wanted the part number so I can get it without him looking it up. As if he would be able to anyway.

The part that I used was 14052-21R00. Should be around $8. The parts guy at the dealership got all pissy w/ me when I asked him for an AIV plug. He was like "You shouldn't be removing that, it's vital to the emissions system!" lol. Then I went and found the part number and he had no problem ordering it for me. Kinda silly, I thought. Anyways, that should be the right number, hope you have a 24mm rachet!

Eureka! Thanks nismo521, I am sure there's a lot of people who want this number. I'll be getting mine from the stupid parts guys ASAP and I am going to give him that same look he loves giving me.

Just FYI for anyone wanting that plug: My local dealer wants $12.28 for it, and someone I know across the state said his was $20.48! It's not cheap, consider yourself warned of the money hunger Nissan parts guy.

I bought some AIV plugs for a Z32 (as I helping a friend remove his AIV during a clutch change on his Z32). The bolts on the exhaust were stuck on so we ended up cutting and welding the holes. As you might imagine Nissan saved time and used the same specs for the AIV bolt. So I ended up using it on my 240. Here's a photograph. I couldn't find out who made the plug but I'll find out soon.

hi mate..your nissan exhaust manifold is one of the most important parts of the exhaust system. that you need to takes care of, it is not that normally can be replaced of due to the sensitivity of it and it should be checked regularly just to make that the connections are tight to avoid leaks and free from cracks as well.

Does anyone have the specs for that plug? I don't feel like ordering because I'm going to set up the exhaust tomorrow at the shop. Thread size, and diameter of the plug would be great. I know it's larger than 1/2 Inch and smaller than 3/4 Inch because those two I bought from ACE didn't fit.

it's a fairly large diameter...not really something that a typical hardware store would carry. My suggestion: Go to http://www.midwaypartsteam.com and look for the "factory parts" on the upper left. put the part number that was listed up the page and search for the part. I'm seeing $6.99 for the part. If someone's gonna be way cheap to pony up 7 bucks for an oem part and complain about it, maybe a 240sx with most of it's parts being made overseas isn't the best choice of car to have.

If you're talking about a sohc, I have an EGR blockoff plate fabbed up, but it's in 22GA steel sheet metal. Would probably need it in some thicker GA steel to be worthwhile. There somewhere I can send off my template to be used to get some plates made for everyone? (I know this thread old, but he did mention needing an egr plate =P and I don't see any made yet )
