Their normal caps leak. I wouldn't buy it.

you want an accurate temperature, get a yashio factory consult plugin water temp unit. I'm buying one shortly.

You can get get a cheap Mechanical, analog gauge with a 1/8 NPT fitting and then a radiator hose adapater with a 1/8th NPT tap for like 15 bucks. You can mount the gauge right to the adapter and install right inline with the top hose.

Get like a glowshift electrical gauge, then get a radiator hose adapter etc. The only reason i say to get the yashio factory one is because its like $180 and you don't need any more equipment or wires.

IMO, the gauge cap is a nice touch as well as accurate.

Also, if anything happens, what's wrong with getting a warranty claim done. It does come with a lifetime warranty.

It has a lifetime warranty yes, but doesn't cover your engine when it leaks letting air into the system causing you to overheat and warp a head.

Hopefully, if something like that happened, the person would be able to see the temp gauge in the car rising, instead of just letting it overheat and screwing up the head.

Anyone actually have one that can chime in here? I want to hear what someone who has owned one has to say about it.

I'm trying to help you out.... Mishimoto is garbage Chinese crap that is private labeled, in less than 400 miles and no damage 2 of their radiators leaked, and 3 caps failed........ I am going to get out of their radiator soon, and use a motorad cap now.

I never saw leaking in my 240's Mishi rad. I guess yours was a fluke?

What did they say when you called about the warranty?

They replaced it twice... China made, bubble gum welded, junk..... Their office is right down in Wilmington DE, 4 guys, no products. They just have stuff private labeled and put it out to bid to the cheapest vendor.

I am going to go with something from griffen next.

if its under the hood how are you supposed to see it when you are driving.

In my opinion this is really a useless mod. Ranks right up there with truck-nutz and fake cooling vents. By the time you saw this thing, it obviously is too late seeing as you'd first have to realize there's a problem with the way the car is running (hopefully), pull over (hopefully), pop the hood and read the gauge. Would you open a hot radiator? Your factory gauge will indicate if you're running hot! Is the factory one not working? If you're that worried, just install an accurate water temp gauge like Autometer inside the car. You get what you pay for ... Why may I ask do you feel you need an accurate temp gauge anyway?

Just from what I read on mishimoto products in the pass was enough to make me steer away from them. I honestly don't think its worth there cheaper prices etc. Theirs no price for keeping your engine cool and reliable

It's funny, because I have heard something along the lines of Koyo only being 2 people etc etc. The amount of employees should not be a direct comparison to quality.

I understand what you guys mean when you say the gauge is some what pointless as you cannot see the gauge when it is under the hood.

Although I respect your opinions, there are a few reason why I like Mishimoto though. I see them on forums as sponsors (which does cost money), only for technical support, and not to sell. I have yet to see Koyo and the like do this. Mishimoto offers a lifetime warranty unlike others. And do things like partials sponsorships for anyone interested, or create "clubs" like Mishimotolovesdrifters.com where you can get discounts and all that good stuff.

Like I said, this is why I like them as a company. They seem to make an extra effort to keep in touch with all the "weekend racers" and people who mod cars for fun, rather than only focusing on "big name" professional racers.

Well, I don't see where the comparison to Koyo fits into this. I run a Koyo 'radiator', it's no comparison to a gauge cap, yet alone this particular one. Koyo is two people? Whoa, don't tell these people, http://www.koyorad.com/company/! And for the sake of support let me requote from OutToWinPAHC: "It [Mishimoto radiator cap] has a lifetime warranty yes, but doesn't cover your engine when it leaks letting air into the system causing you to overheat and warp a head." ... Hey, choice is yours if you want to take that risk. I'd much rather go with a "big name" that has consistant race proven worthwhile products and strong product reliability for the serious stuff such as keeping your engine cool. BTW, anyone who has a little cash can be a forum sponsor; it does not necessarily always mean that they are reputible and/or reliable with quality products. The overall point here is that Mishimoto's radiator cap with a temp gauge on it seems pointless.

Mishimoto might warrenty THERE parts but will they pay for a new engine when is over heats and blows up. I don't know how many times I read that soomebody bought a radiator from them and it leaked.
