Question about navi systemin the M45

We just got the M this morning when the shipper dropped her off. I have been trying to get he nav set up to show our location but it just won't lock on to where I am. I have an 06 QX so I'm familiar with the system but just can't seem to figure it out. Thecar was on a flatbed from Florida so I thought that might have been the issue, but I switched regions and drove the car for about an hour and it didn't find my location.

I went into one of the navi info areas and it did say satillite out of range with no latitude or longitude info.

I took The disc out and reloaded it also.

Should I reset to factory defaults or is there something I'm missing? Not really sure what to do.

Any help is appreciated.

Doubt there is anything you can do yourself to get this working, best bet is to take it to the dealer

Man that sucks if I have to take it in when I haven't even had the car 24hrs. The place we got it from wasn't an Infiniti dealer so who knows if they looked at this or not.

Our '09 "M" does much the same thing. In addition to not displaying the current location, it will usually not report altitude. Our dealer claimed to have no idea how to fix this. Since the nav system otherwise works just fine, I've given up pursuing a remedy for this minor shortcoming.

FWIW, there have been several similar posts on this forum in the 12 months I've been reading it. I believe one post said the dealer repositioned the GPS antenna, which is apparently under the dashboard, which helped.

That's pretty messed up your having problems with your new ride.

Well thanks for the info, if anyone knows how to go about moving the antenna can you post up? I guess it's worth a shot. It does seem to not be in touch with the satellite for whatever reason.

Can anyone point me in the direction to a service manual or some info on how to reposition the GPS antenna? Has anyone personally done this themselves?

I also notice too, that when our car is parked the front screen is not playing the movie that is on the flip down. I'm getting a message saying "movie will resume when car is parked." Is there a setting or does this just supposed to come on automatically?

Thanks. I hope to do the hack when I get a chance, but first I got to get this nav situation figured out. If anyone has a link to a service manual please post up or I'll buy it online.
