It's likely rubberized Asphalt spray which I use in all my cars wheel wells. It does make a difference, you'll see. I'm just a bit skeptical that it's any better than the stuff I bought at Canadian Tire which cost me $6.99 per can http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST...g.jsp07sportm35 wrote:I will start by just doing the wheelwells then use the dB meter to compare before and after.
If the results are decent then onto the under carriage then more testing...
Dynamat'ing our cars would reduce exterior noise caused by body vibrations yes I would say it's good but is it worth it? Well flea-bay sells original dynamat at 36sqft for $140. In order for it to be effective you need to remove everything off the floor of the car including seats, center console, back seats, carpet and the infiniti OEM sound insulating mats. This stuff has to be applied to the metal body directly to be as effective as advertisted. I've used some other similar stuff and it seemed to work but the biggest drawback to applying this is weight. Dynamat weighs in at 0.45lbs per sqft. If you don't mind that and have the $$$ and time to take your car appart then do it.fiveliterbeater wrote:hey do you think it's worth it to dynamat our cars?
Appreciate the feedback msvara. Sounds like you have knowledge in this area. $38 is not a lot of money in either case. If it helps then the money is very well spent.msvara wrote:

When applying focus on the metal body parts not so much the plastic liner in the wheel well. I found that there's only a small amount of metal body that's immediately visible from the wheel well. I recommend taking the liner off and spraying the metal body underneath.
Focus on the wheel wells with these two cans and get your undercarriage sprayed with an self healing antirust compound instead. It'll cost less and be less of a mess to you.
A few safety tips for you is wear latex gloves, a P95 mask and safety glasses.
This is a very inexpensive but often overlooked process.
