after wiring up a z32 maf and pigtail to my rb25 powered 240 the car would not start. Its putting out max voltage of 5.11 with just the key on....the problem is intermittent.

Is the maf bad?? all wiring has been triple checked and everything is good.

any input would be appreciated. I need to know if I need to return this thing or not...

thanks

Ok ill do that but if it starts then it would be the maf right?? I mean doesnt the ecu get the signal from the maf after its been converted?? with the car off the maf is suppose to be getting like 0.3 or 0.5

-if it was wired wrong it would start at all-if it had a short, the voltage should have fluctuated when i was tugging, pulling and twisting the harness to the pigtail..

Has no one ever had this problem before??

If it starts up I would think it is the MAF open or shorted internally.

UPDATE!!!! I went ahead and returned the old maf sensor..I didnt trust the dude. If you look at his wiring you would understand why.

I bought anouther one from a trust worthy source and she fired up. No more breaking down in traffic...

Culpit was bad maf...hint sending the wrong signal to the ecu
