That might be a little tough to come by... you'd probably have better luck on the weekend.

Tips and tricks. I suggest everyone that reads this contribute something that can help the process whether it be a suggestion for keeping the parts in order or a tool to make doing something easier.

Memphis, check this thread often as there should be some good suggestions coming. Also feel free to ask as many questions as possible during the process and I'll hunt down as many answers for you as I can.

Things to have prior to starting.

A work table to lay out tools in use and parts once removed. It will help keep things as organized as possible. If no table is available, go to Walmart and buy 10 cheap white towels. Use the towels to place all the parts on etc.

Magnet bowls, I have 3 and they stay full of parts and tools ALL the time when I'm working.

Parts bags, they can be ziploc or canvas types. I try to put bolts and nuts that go to certain parts together with the part. The parts bags usually have ties on them so you can secure the hardware right to the item they go with.

Brake cleaner...lots of brake cleaner.

Lots of rags.

I'll hunt down some articles for you to read.

Sadly the best rebuild article I could find was on KAT.Org.

And a sharpee to label them. I kinda skipped this part when I was doing my rebuild. You get going and get in the zone and don't want to slow down for this, and you figure everything is simple enough and you'll remember where everything goes.

...and then something happens and a few months go by and before you know it, you are staring at something saying "WTF is this?!".

Take as many pictures as possible, maybe we can turn your build into a decent article for others to follow. That's another reason I'm all for you and others asking questions in this thread so we can get all the answers out there.

all you need is a laptop or desktop (a spill proof, oil proof keyboard or just a plastic bag over the keyboard and mouse).download the shop manual pdf from the stickies, keep it open at engine section and follow each steps.in the background open nicos search page, type in the question and voila.

i have done two (half a$$ed) rebuilds but never needed any more than pdf and nico. labelling helps a lot, an old egg tray to keep everything in sequence. i will keep an eye on this thread and help out where ever i can.just drop your question here and will post an answer asap.

good luck

r u pulling the motor out and doing it? or do u have a hoist/lift for the whole car? i did the first one with engine in car, but that was only the number 4 piston replace. the second one is had the motor on an engine stand and made everything a breeze.
