I was thinking that it would look nice if i could update my 6 buttons (dest. Nav, Route, phone, info, and settings) on my dash around the direction knob. In my 06 m45 they are sort of a milky white color and on the newer models they are a nice looking black and chrome. They look about the same shape etc but one thing i notice is that the "map" and "route" buttons have switched locations. Has anyone done this or even thought about it? Is it possible without being crazy expensive or without a bunch of modifications? I did search but didnt find anything. Thanks!

Hey thanks for the reply, thats exactly what im looking to do. Since no one was replying to my question i figured that it hadnt been done before. It looks real nice but obviously i would like for you to provide me with some more details. Did you have to replace the entire panel or just the 6 buttons? Where did you get it from and what kind of cost are we talking? I saw that you had to swap circuit boards, how hard is that? Any other info you have would be great. Thanks again and nice mod!

Im not sure what happened to the link. It basically just showed a picture of before and after... no details or anything at all. I emailed him and he then sent me some details. He pretty much bought an 08 panel and did a straight swap. He had to use the circuit board from his 06 because the 08 one didnt work. It looks the exact same except with the new chrome looking buttons. Also the map and route buttons will switch locations so if you want map you will still have to push where the map button is currently but it will now say route and vice versa... hope that makes sense. He suggested getting the panel on ebay and they go for around $200. Good luck and let me know if you find anything else out or if you try this and ill do the same.

Gotcha.. I just dont know if I can spend $200 on somethiing that looks a little cooler but doesnt function correctly.. .. But we shall see...
