LS1 240sx swap parts check

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Hey everybody,

My attempt with this post is not to beat a dead horse, but just get a stamp of approval on the parts I think I will need to complete this swap.

Again, these parts are what I think I need after research, if I don't need them, or I'm wrong, please tell me.

1) Daft Innovations LSx kit (What I've decided to go with and it's local)

2) LS1 w/ T56

a.) Any LS1 will do from F-body, Vette, or GTO b.) The T56 from a Vette will not work and I need either an F-body or GTO version. c.) In order for the shifter to line up with the interior of the car I need a F-body shifter plate d.) In order to use the Daft kit, I'm going to need a GTO oil pan. If I don't get an engine from a GTO, I can purchase this oil pan and associated parts new.

3) LS1 ECU w/ wiring to be done by Daft

a.) I should not use an ECU from a GTO, but from an F-body or Vette.

4) Kaaz LSD or is there better for street use?

5) Misc. Radiator

Thanks for any and all help.

lol you forgot one of the most crutial parts... patience!! but that does seem to be the bulk of the big stuff, you will need alot of small things that will add up quickly like fuel line fittings, your probably gonna mess up few sensors like the coolant temp.. you also need to look at your intake setup for the LS1. Do keep in mind that all 3rd gen "LS" motors share like 90% of there parts nicely.. so say if you found a 5.3 alum block and ecu, and take the cost difference between that and the LS1, you may be able to put a few more things like an intake, heads, cam, performance flash, and youd be looking at a good deal of power, but also keeping a quick reving motor and in the long run getting more bang for your buck

If you're wanting a full kit, Sikky and Fueled seem to be the best option. If you want to save a bit of money and want to do a bit of the work yourself, the Street Elite Performance kit is full Stainless, but does not come with headers (Hinson's work with minor modification) nor an oil pan (use GTO pan).

Daft has had a lot of customer service issues havnt they? Or not getting product out or something.

Sikky makes a good all in one kit but the price tag is high and Fueled is even higher.

Yes, Daft has had customer service issues along with instances of poor quality/fitment from what I hear.

Actually, I think Sikky is higher than Fueled because headers are not included on Sikky's "kit". But, yes, both are over $2000. The real benefit is not having to cut the crossmember, which honestly I feel is not a big deal.
