After a winter of taking the head off, cleaning it, breaking a camshaft, and doing a bunch of work, i feel I need to treat myself with some easy installation bling. So which shift knob do you think I should get? I've narrowed it down to these three. Only question on the Nismo one, are the threads on it Resin like the body, or are they metal?

If you have a short shifter I say Greddy Counterweight, I have that combo and it's superb

I voted for the Nismo knob. I have the ASpec version and it's identical. It has some good weight to it and is very comfortable.

I have the dildo knob. I wish I had spent more and got that titanium GT knob that goes for $100 bucks.

for the Dildo Knob, are the threads metal or resin?

I have the regular Nismo GT shift knob. Simple styling, good weight, it doesn't burn in the summer, it has the screw on top to where I can tighten it down really good, and it's easy on the hand.

Resin like the rest of it, I have the white one, and absolutely no weight to it.

this sold me on the Greddy Counter Weight. I need some weight to it and i dont like the resin threads. seems like they'll strip out easy or something..plus the Greddy one is cheaper

Thanks guy for the input!

No problem man. I actually miss the weight of my stock shift knob. It does look nice in white though, I liked it cause my car's white.

yea i REALLY want the counter weight, and i can't believe FRSport is charging $10.38 to ship it to me, but oh well.

but heres the next question. my threads are F***ED on my shifter. do i buy another OEM shifter and slap it in, or go buy a tap and die set from Sears, use the M10x1.25 die to fix the threads, and take it back and say i wasn't satisfied with it and return the tap and die se? lol

ok just thought i'd post back. I just recieved my Greddy Counterweight shift knob and i have to say, it is absolutely amazing! not only does it make shifting 3x as easy, but it looks great while doing so. the best thing i added to the interior of my car yet! $40 well spent.

Looks like it would be hell with the sun reflecting in your eye off the shifter.

IDK about you guys but I REALLY like the stock shift knob. I know but maybe because I've never used another shift knob?

I don't remember the car it was on, but the last big meet in Seattle, saw a 20-sided novelty sized die, like D & D style, freaking sweet

I was using the old school T-handle from Hurst a few years ago. My buddy that I bought the car back from changed it to some Momo ball to match the other Momo accents I have (steering wheel and pedals). Nice touch, but I have to say I really liked the T for it's weight and comfort ... might put it back on. He said he removed the T because he was sick of everyone asking if the car was automatic! But I voted for the counter weight GReddy.

Hurst T

Momo (?)
