2jzgte into obd2 s14?!!

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Ok I recently bought a 96 s14, but I don't want to keep the ka and I would like to drop in a 2jz asap...The issue is the obd2 will make it all but impossible for me to pass emissions with dash lights on and everything else with this. The engine is a 94 2jz i'm looking at, but may have to let it go because I may have to sell the car then buy a 95 s14 that's obd1. I see guys selling obd2 to obd1 harnesses round here, will something like that work for a swap like this or is it best I be patient and get the 95. Here in ct the emissions is a b****!!! even when the car runs perfect and clean the computer has to agree also. I hope that I explained that right

If you're runnin a 2jz the last thing I would be worried about is emissions. If you do swap it then you'll be running either a standalone system or the 2jz ecu, so you should be asking if those are obdII compliant or not.

Posting in the right forum might help.

dude that are y ou talking about? I'm looking for an emissions solution for the 2jz in a 96! If there is no way around this yeah maybe I will turbo the ka or just sell the damn thing and start with a 95 obd1. I did'nt even notice I posted in the wrong spot!! I was up mad late looking into this and I noticed a obd2 to obd1 harness for sale, I wondered if that could fix my issue...not much experience with obd2. I miss my damn s13 now

My friend got the 2jz from an aristo and I was going to do the same because of price, I know the usdm 2jz might be able to work...but it's hella more expensive. So like I said in my post though, I may just sell it and get the 95 because where I live you can't get away with s*** with emissions. I know I can get it to pass with an older car

Could always get a "2jzge" Turbo that. When smog time rolls around, just remove the turbo.

There's so many ways around this.

holy s*** I completely forgot about that engine, i'll look into that further...ct is really a pain in the a** because emissions is linked right up to dmv and they installed cameras so that their is no funny business. Thanx for that tid bit of info bro and once the weather breaks I can pull the car out and hopefully get to work. I was also researching the vq swap, but I have'nt found anyone around here competent enough to do it.

sounds like you have it worse than cali in some ways. cameras at the smog shop? holy ****!

I would find out if the harness from obd1 to obd2 works with the obd2 ecu with out any problems( error codes) if so it would sure beat the hell out of having to pull the turbo and then put it pack, thing $ in gaskets.

good luck with that.

dang shame...we have it worse than cali in that aspect! yeah our shops all have cameras locked on everything going on in that bay. If the car fails it gets sent straight to dmv database too

in tx they send it to the dmv if it fails. alot of states if not all do. theres ways around the camera's. theres a way around everything. i personally can think of a few ways to beat a camera.

yeah some of my friends do emissions, but they are scared to death to even try and do side deals here. So what i'm doin now is search for a 1995 in solid condition and then i'll sell my 96 and let somebody else worry about that headache. Should'nt be a problem the car is bone stock and noo rust at all. I'm goin to look in the classifieds here on nico to see what's going on
