I have the new NAVTEQ 7.5 edition. Set on the map selection it appears to not show on the map the upcoming exits on the US Interstate Hiway system. If I recall correctly the previous version 7.4 did; I think. Am I missing something; failed to set it up correctly? Or am I mistaken and unless you put in a specific destination the off ramps on the interstates are not shown?

I believe you have to edit your settings to actually show upcoming exits; it doesn't have to do with the map version you're using. I don't remember how off the top of my head but it should be in the manual or you might want to look in the navigation or view settings.

I would think so. I have searched thru the nav screens but could not find anything relating to same. I was hoping someone off hand would know the answer. I guess this next weekend I'm going back to the manual.

I too am having problem with street names not displaying in v7.5. For me it's not only upcoming streets, but also entire neighborhoods have streets but no street names show on the map. The street name displays in the bar below the map but doesn't show up on the screen map. It's been checked by the dealer twice (with a new disc at each visit)and I am in the process of getting a third disc from NAVTEQ. Today I found someone with the same model and year as my Infiniti and installed the disc in their system. Their system had the same problem with the disc. If the problem persists after I try a third disc, I am going to take the car to a dealer in another cityand see they can help. I think there is a problem with the NAVTEQ disc.

yes - mister infiniti lineup has the right idea. if you set your map to show bird view, you have to change it to other view and use zoom in to see all the streets' names. play around with the view options to find your best "view" :D

not to threadjack - but does anyone know how to set the nav to show the car speed? i'm not talking about the average speed that you can get from the "Info" screen. I mean your real time car's speed. IIRC, the diagnostic screen suppose to have the option that you can show your car speed. i read this from the FSM; maybe i need to go back to the AV section and re-read to make sure. however if anyone know a way to do it, please share.

I've got my map set to bird view. I never thought to change it. I'll try changing it to the 2 dimensional map. Thanx for the tip.

Ive also got the 7.5 nav. update but i havent had any of the above issues. All my street names, highway names etc are all spoken while nav. is being used and all upcoming exits are displayed. I think it may have to do with the users location. Some areas of the US may be better programed than others. I think I actually read that on the Navteq website but i may be mistaken, ill search for it.

I believe the solution is a combination of the previous answers. First the map must be set at the 2 dimensional view. Second the map has to be at the right zoom level; usually for me second from the closest. And finally you do need to be in an area that is older and more populated than some new 2 horse town in Utah. Only then will you get maximum names of streets etc.

What I hate is that even though my GPS works perfectly and gives me great directions, my wife still feels the need to sit next to me and navigate like shes the freaking founder of GARMIN or something! :wtf2:
