Pardon my ignorance, I know how easy it is to adjust a traditional engine's valves, but what bout the DOHC?

I have what would seem to be a valve tick, in the past I would pull the valve cover, pinpoint the noise and tighten the rocker ever so slightly. With trial and error I'd get it to stop, and I would subsequently see performance and economy increase.

Any guidance is appreciated, I've had no luck with lurking, searching.

Valve tick may have to do with the type of fuel used and frequency of oil change. It may be due to gunk (carbon, varnish, etc) build-up or even oil restriction. You may be better off by doing a less intrusive action like using BG Quick Clean. Apply it on a warm engine, then run the engine for 10-15 mins and drain oil immediately. You may have to do this 3 times or more to correct the problem. You can use cheap dino oil during this process and change oil every 1000 miles or so. As an option, you can add BG MOA in between flush. Other members have used AutoRX or even a comprehensive oil flush from 'envirolution' shop.

You can also use BG44K or Red LIne SI-1 Fuel System Cleaner to clean the injectors and combustion components.

Most of these items can be bought online.
