I just raised the mirror on my 2010 S 360. The procedure is fairly simple:
1) unplug the mirror, remove the torx screw and slide the mirror off the mounting button along with the cable housing.
2) stick masking tape on the windshield around the mounting button to protect the glass.
3) hold the button with a set if vice grips using the top an bottom edges. Be careful not to clamp down too hard or you could damage the glass.
4) carefully heat the button with a windproof butane lighter for about 5 seconds. While heating the button, wiggle the vice grips back and forth gently and it should just pop off.
5) remove the masking tape and scrape off the old glue from the glass and button with a razor blade. don't worry about the black shading on the windshield. it's nearly impervious to razor blades.
6) the cable housing is made of two parts, which allows it to expand and contract. Slide the pieces apart and trim each of them to the desired length. Remember to leave some slack for the housing to contract so that there's enough room for the mirror to slide back onto the button.
7) attach the button using a rear view mirror attachment kit and install the mirror. be sure to follow the kit instructions or the glue will not hold.
8) enjoy the improved visibility
