HICAS light came on the other day on my 1990 Q45 after i washed the engine bay. nown the question i have for the forum is the following is the speedometer directly connected to the power steering? after the light came on the speedoemter quit working after driving the car w/out a speecometer for about 10-15 min the speedometer came to life and worked for a while and then went out again and then came back i hope it is something simple but can't figure it out
any help greatly appreciated

Could be low power steering fluid.....

know one finds it funny that he has a 1990 Q45t AKA HICAS. HICAS was first in 1991 to the USDM Q45's...Yes?
So if you truly have a 1990 Q45 then someone switched your instrument cluster with one of a 1991-1993 Q45t.

well thansk for teh info all what happened was the p/s fluid was low and magically the HICAS light went off but after a few days it came back on i checked the hoses and saw nothing wrong well i checked the p/s hoses again this past weekend and found a "hairline"tear in one of the 2 hoses.
