No heat, no a/c. Turn the fan to the highest, still nothing. Put it on ECON and take it all the way to 85 nothing. I wont feel anything untill im driving. Every once in a while, it will finally come on, But by that time, im already at my destination.! AC is same way. I listened, i dont hear the fans blowing or anything. But i do hear a little sound of closing and opening or watever sound that is supposed to be when i switch from AUTO to ECON. I have replaced that thing in the dashboard area about 2 years ago, because it would only work with fan on high. This time, this is not the case. It works wen it wwants to work. A local person said its my temperature control Unit. But before i easily throw that away. What do you all think. Cause id hate to throw away a good part. And plus ive never seen this on here before. And yes, before u ask, car was warm before i took off.!

Plan on replacing the fan amplifier again too... it's surely toast if the fan hasn't been running.

Yep, almost certainly a worn out fan motor. The brushes wear down to the point where they no longer make electrical contact. Often, you can tap the outside of the motor case with a hammer (while the A/C system is turned on) to temporarily make it start again, but the only permanent fix is a new motor.

It could be... anything is fair game on a 15 year old car. But the motor is the most likely. I have never heard of a 94-96 climate controller failure.

OK.. next questioin then. Is the early 1st Gen G50 fan motor interchangeable with the 2nd Gen. Is 90-93 compatible with 94-96. I have a 95 and access to about 5 90-93 Just asking.. Id rather use a used one from one i trust that buying from a junkyard or oreilly.!

I suspect they're different in some way - because when I searched for a '95 on http://www.car-part.com it doesn't bring up any from the 90-93 ... maybe Paul can look it up in FAST for you to confirm.

It's possible that they're very similar and you could swap parts out internally but I don't know.

Would if I could but my laptop was destroyed by someone so no Nissan FAST for a while.

But 1990-1996 are interchangeable after all its just a simple motor. The only visible changes is that there is a rubber hose instead of plastic hose on the blower motor. Other than that nothing changes because I have a 1994 blower motor in my Q right now.

Well, i put the fan speed on 3 and hit up under the glove box a few times and the stoopid thing comes on. So seems like thats gonna get replaced next week. And i guess i might replace the amplifier as well so i dont have to go thru this headache again! Thank you all.. seriouisly!

I did it... It wasnt hard at all.. The hardest part is just knowing how to take the glove box oout.. Once you have that, its there. I replaced it with a 91 model blower. The only difference is the hose That black hose. The one in the 91 is made of rubber, and the one in the 95 was made of plastic. Thats it. I did it and saved myself 1.6hrs of labor pay to someone else.!

Oh i forgot to say it works, blows like a champ. And yes, i forgot to replace that other thing. But for now it works, so meh!So i guess now....*****************TOPIC**CLOSED*********************************
