I recently purchased some used 850cc top feed deatschwerks injectors. They were installed in an RB for about 5000 miles. My question is, they are high impedance just as a stock KA injector. I have an Enthalpy tune through Enjuku, and i just noticed that they only support 370-850cc sidefeed injectors, or 50# to 72# MSD injectors. I emailed them and Ken Harrison of enjuku says they are not sure if they will be able to get it done, and asked if i have a top feed rail and dropping resistors. My question is WHY? What is the factor that makes top feeds and side feeds so much different from a tuneing standpoint. Would i be safe telling them the injectors are MSD injectors? Also has anyone ever used RB injectors in a KA-T?

Well the difference isn't in side feed vs top feed where tuning is concerned. It's about the impedance. Both top and side feed come in high and low imp.

The only real question is whether your injectors were in the RB26, RB25 or the RB20. The RB20 uses high imp top feed injectors. The RB25 uses side feed high imp injectors. The RB26 uses low imp top feeds injectors. If they are truly high imp injectors then there is no reason they can't be used with a ECU tuned for high imps.

I have heard that certain types of injectors can't be tuned for, for reasons that I don't know. But the only type I know for sure that have a problem are Venom. I have heard some ramblings about deathworks injectors, but I can't say anything about them for sure.

I've used 550's from my RB20 on my KA if that helps, but I had a top feed rail. The reason Ken asked is because he doesn't know what model RB you had them in and probably assumed the RB26.

Thanks WD! ive been chatting with Ken for a couple days now. He was unaware that they were off of an RB20, and gave me the go ahead for the tune. I just figured of all places to ask for some input and a possible explanation was here. I figured you would chime in.

Thanks again

I used 550's from a RX7 and used the clips that came with the injectors.
