Hi, I'm new here, introduced myself over in the general sectionshttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zer...74973

former Nissan tech a few years ago, I remember doing PDI's the cars, never thought I would own one lol, well heres the questions:

-Has anyone installed the nismo headers? Any pics? I have seen OBX headers?

-I have searched and haven't found too many pictures, has anyone installed the Stillen supercharger, with pictures? And whats the deal with the 7th injector? I have read mixed results with it.

-Who makes a good bolt up exhaust? I heard the gibson one sounds like garbage. Is it possible to run dual exhaust with a x pipe and have it dump under the car instead out the back? I havn't been under one in a long time and haven't looked under mine yet, here is a example of what I was thinking

Any thoughts on spintech stuff? I have always been fond of magnaflow.

-Has anyone been able to retrofit the auto up feature for the passanger side for vehicles that only have it for the driver?

Thanks guys.

I'm sorry, but I cannot answer your specific questions concerning an 05+ PF as I own an 04, but I will give my opinion on a couple of the other items.

Spintech Mufflers - have not owned or do not own one, but I have talked to a few people who do and if you are looking for a highflow, thin muffler and don't mind a bit of noise, then u might like the spintech I'm sure you've done some looking at their website and the typical youtuve research, and yes, spintechs are as loud as they sound. If I'm not mistaken, spintech is a favorite amount oval track racers because it meets the requiremnts to have a muffler, but doesn't hold anything back in the way of flow.

It more or less behaves as a straight through muffler design, just without the sound absorbing fill material. Spintech can tuck in close to the body to give you that extra bit of ground clearance if off roading is your thing. Lots of V8 guys running around with spintech.

I wouldn't have the exhaust dump under the car. If you want to cut the exhaust "short", at least do a side exit as to not have the gasses dump right under the passenger cabin. By dumping short, the customer in the vid looked like he was trying to save some weight, some money and be a bit stealthey at the same time. Personally, I would add the extra 5' of pipe and go all the way to the rear. You can then choose to have exposed tips or make them appear as stock. Keeping them together, ala '04 GTO style, is also an option instead of splitting the spare tire.

A custom built exhaust will give you some flexibility in the routing options and may even save you a few buckscuz you aren't paying for a name. Also, most good exhaust shops have pre-bent pipe anyway, so all they have to do is cut and weld.

I didn't see the 05+ PF w/ 4.0L listed on the Stillen page. Only the Armada PF. Does Vortec or Eaton make a bolt on system?

Here is a link to the Frontier/Pathfinder supercharger, I was just looking for feedback on it, I read somewhere that they did the install without the 7th injector yet received similar gains and fuel economy improvement. http://www.stillen.com/product...HFIND

Any info on headers?

I don't mind a exhaust tone thats agressive, but I don't want it too loud or to sound like a rice rocket. Thoughts on x pipes for a v6? I may put in a inquiery to stillen and a few other companies.

Thanks for the response!

Thanks for the link.

Here are some links of other V6s with Spintechs:

Addin an X-pipe will help balance the flow. It also adds volume, giving the gasses a place to expand and move faster.

Keep tip diameter the same size as the pipe diameter and you should help keep some of the boomyness down, but you can still add a nice rolled tip to finish it off.

Headers are always an improvement over the stock manifolds, so those should help no matter what - FI or N-A. Remember the engine is just a big air pump and being able to move air in and out efficiently and quickly will aid in better performance.

Again, what supercharger kit to go with may be dictated by the market. If there is only one kit, then that is the kit you have to go with, depite the price. S/C for Pathfinders aren't like turbos for Civics or tCs...there just isn't a whole lot of demand.

G/L.

Thanks for the links, I'm very familiar with engine theory as I was a tech.

I am wondering which pipe sizes would be ideal for a true dual with x pipe and same side exit. I LOVE the way 350z sounds in the link you sent me, I will prob end up with some magnaflows though. From what I can tell from youtube vids is the 4.0 has a completely different sound then the 3.5 exhaust. I would like to make my exhaust sound like the 350, but I'm not sure if that is possible, or ideal.

The stillen supercharger looks great, I was just wanting feedback of others as to how they liked it.

So has anyone installed the nismo or JBA headers on our pathys?

I'm super happy with my pathfinder, I can't wait to do some mods to it!
