My 07 Sport has been in the shop on and off for over a week. I have been hearing a significant noise when going over bumps in road, even very small ones. First dealership replaced the rear strut. I got it back and the loud thudding noise was gone, but I could hear a "rattling sound" over bumps. More faint, but clearly there. I took it back in and they replaced the second rear strut. Still not fixed. I just heard back yesterday that there is a pinch weld at top of strut that needs repaired. Back from Body Shop after the weld. The tech said he STILL hears a noise.Credit to the Charlotte dealer. They are working hard on it and doing a nice job communicating along the way. Still, I dont like that the car is completely dismantled as they are trying to pinpoint the problem. At least Infiniti has good loaner program! I have a feeling it will be a few more days...Has anyone else experienced this??

I do get a squeak from the rear suspension when going over speed bumps on really cold days and sometimes on a warm day. Other than that I once had some clicking noises from the rear drivers side wheel over any sort of bumps.

I actually figured out it was the parking cables having too much slack and needed to be tighten. It was a easy fix. Try having yours tighten too.

First apply the parking brakes. Take a flash light and on top of the pedal is a adjustment screw. Take a 10mm wrench and tighten it a couple of turns and that's it.

You know, I had a rattling noise somewhere around the rear left rear well. The dealer first tried to tighten some cables...I believe parking brake but that did not work. I took it back and this time they replaced the left strut and this seemed to stop the rattling. When I spoke to the service rep, I said I had not heard of this problem before when I had searched the internet. He seemed a bit surprised and said that they had worked on a couple cars recently but they had replaced the right strut rather than the left one like my car. Unfortunately, the rattling has come back after about a week or so and I just have not taken the time to take it back. Like you, I had a loaner (G37) and the lack of rattling in the loaner makes it clear to me that something is clearly not right. I intend to take it back next week. I don't think that this is a safety issue but just a bother issue.

GOOD NEWS UPDATE:

They finally solved the problem. They replaced the left bushing. Perfect.

You should see the warranty paperwork! In the end, 2 new struts, 2 new welds and a new bushing.

Have your dealer call the Charlotte Infiniti and ask for Tracy. She can connect them to the Tech. (She also drives an M45)

Wolfman, Well, I took my car back to the dealership to try to get rid of the rattle in the rear. They had already replaced the left rear strut with no benefit. This time, they went ahead and replaced the rear bushings as you suggested and this (knock on wood) had got rid of the rattling. I'm hoping that the rattle does not re-appear 6 months down the line. Thanks for the advice.
