I am trying to add the optional Bose/Clarion 6-CD in dash CD changer (CE018 / PN-2302N / 28184-3W400) to my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. The vehicle is currently equipped with a Bose/Clarion am/fm/cassette head unit (CK188 / PN-1710N / 28115-3H000). However, when I went to install the changer I discovered that there is a small cable that runs between the two units that I do not have. Would anyone know the Nissan part number for this small cable? Be able to suggest some other source where one can be obtained? Or perhaps even have one available?

Here are a few pictures of the components I am working with.

http://www.courtesyparts.com/p....html One of these cables might be what your looking for. Your best bet is probably to call up and talk to someone to see if they know for sure.

Thanks for the link. But I have already spoken to someone in Courtesy's parts department regarding this cable. They were not certain, but they believe that the cable is only sold as part of the Dash Harness ($1,600 - Ouch !). This might explain why the cable does not appear in any of the drawings on the page you provided a link to.

Yeah, 1600 is a little ridiculous. Worst case scenario, you can probably find someone to make the cable for you. I guess hit up junkyards and see if you can get your hands on it there.

I have tried several salvage yards with no success. The cable is either hacked when the units are removed or simply discarded. I would need to locate an untouched Pathfinder with the Bose system still in place to get the cable. Unfortunately I have had no luck in this effort.

You mention having the cable made. Pin out diagrams for both the head unit and CD player are available from this site. If I had the proper connectors for the two units I could make them up myself. Can you suggest a supplier of such connectors or a shop that would fabricate the cable for me?

I don't think that you would be able to find just the connectors anywhere, but I was thinking that you could open up the unit and solder directly to the board to get it done. I need to hit the junkyard up my way to try and find a light, so I'll keep a eye out for any pathfinders while I'm there.
