Anyone else experienced issues with noisy electric seats?

Is it the motor that wears out, or something to do with the tracks?

First, check for anything that may be obstructing the track - coin, ballpen, etc.

Yeah i tried all the obvious stuff. Tried some lubricant on the tracks, made not a bit of difference.

I found a seat with tracks and motor at a pick n pull, and don't want to pay for the tracks and motor if all i need is the motor.

what function causes the noise, or is it all of them...?

There are 3 motors on the seat I believe, 4 on the drivers... Are both seats like that?

Drivers seat, forward/back movement only makes the noise.

hmm, then i might suspect you could get just that motor, might be easier than screwing around with an entire seat unless its in better shape than the one you have...

I woudl read up on the seats in the FSM, if i recall you could take the motor cable off the rails and run the motor without moving the seats to see if thats the problem.

Not much help there unfortunately.

Might just have to take a risk and grab the whole track/motor assembly.

well heres what im saying... Youll see in the diagram that the motor has a cable coming off it.. On the very bottom of the diagram.. if you take the plastic piece off the front of the seat youl see that you can take that cable out. What I am suggesting is you do that, and run the motor to see if thats whats causing the noise.. if the motor sounds good, then its in the track.

Underneath the seat, in the front, there is a long bar with a screw on it. That screw is just dangling there and when the seat moves, it vibrates, causing a noise. You will have to remove the seat to see it, but it will be noticeable and dangling when you look at it clear as day. My drivers seat had the same prob, but I found it when replacing the leather seat covers.

Well i swapped out the seat tracks today and put it all back together, nice and quiet, relatively speaking.

Although now there is another issue. When getting in the car and putting the key in the ignition, the seat won't return to it's previous position.

Once you adjust it, go for a drive or whatever, and go to exit the vehicle, the seat slides back as it should. It just doesn't return upon re-entry as it should, and needs to be adjusted manually again.

Mine does that sometimes. Bad Battery connection? Storing the settings right? Moving the settings at all?

Well i gave up trying to figure it out. I put the old tracks back in, and now it still does it.

I should point out that the steering wheel does move up and away, and then return to the previous position on re-entry.

This car is frustrating the s*** outta me.
