Hi

I have tried searching and came up with a whole heap of crap that wasn't much help, as well as looked through a heap of pages to no avail.

I just need to know how much oil, in litre's, to put in a 1994 G50 Q45 (Aust) and is the best/only way to get to the oil filter from underneath?

Also my engine has a bit of a ticking noise, which to me sounds like maybe a lifter problem, but I don't know a great deal about these engines. Do they have problems with lifters? Also there is a bit of a belt sqeal, usually when it is cold. How do I go about tightening the belts?

Thanks for the helpBren

6qt or 5.67L. You definitely want to remove the filter from the bottom. It's possible to pull the air filter box and access it from the top, but the added stress to the delicate wiring and connector to the MAF and CAS frequently suffer when this method is used.

HLA (lifter) noise isn't super common, but shows up occasionally. I would try a few ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil before your oil change... it has worked for me in the past with minor intermittant HLA tap.

Adjusting the belts is done by first loosening the bolt in the middle of the tensioner and then turning the adjusting bolt. It's very likely that the idler bearings are failing... they tend to seize for a second at startup, at wide open throttle near redline, or howl like a bad power steering pump as they fail.
