Stop Sign Ahead Light Blinking Interval Decreased

I pass this sign all the time on the way to my girlfriend's house that is a 4-way-stop ahead sign. It has two flashing yellow lights attached to the top. I used to skate near there when i was young and i KNOW they used to blink slower than they do now, by a lot. They used to flash like every second and now it is like twice a second. I thought maybe something was just wrong with this one sign, but i noticed today that ALL of the yellow blinkers in Chesterfield VA are going faster. Has this occurred anywhere else or am i going crazy? I would record a video but it would only be present day, i have no evidence of the pre-conspiracy blink rate.

this has nothing to do with your thread topic, but i don't get that sign in the picture. what triggers the sign to start flashing? is there a certain time of day that the pelicans decide to mingle in the road? is there some dud in a shack that pushes a button every time he sees a pelican? i NEED to know this...

Damn, I thought I was going insane. The lights right outside my neighborhood are blinking at about 3x per second where as they used to be at 0.75-1x per second.
