  Debadge

I want to paint my emblems black as it will match the "black" theme of the car. That being said, does anyone know if the INFINITI letters in the tailgate are welded in or are they removable?

held on by glue. you can remove them with dental floss followed by goo-gone to remove the glue remains and then wax it.

i suggest buying new emblems to reapply, cause the glue on new emblems is the best.

Yeah, I agree with fueler. New emblems will stick best.

Might be 'ghetto', but I super-glued my originals back on after painting them black. Haven't had any issues with them coming off or loose, and this was done close to six months ago.

fishing line also works. just work the floss or fishling line behind the badge and slide it back and forth, you will slowly cut through the glue.

I thought of de-badging mine but decided i like the stock emblems the way they are.

i debadged all the chevys at my work though.
