Hi fist off want to say awesome site everybody!!! Now I just bought a 89 240 hatch and it has an Redtop SR20DE non turbo RWD in it. From what i have been told it a rarer motor to find so when i found out what he wanted i couldnt resist. Ok the issue is that it starts fine but when you get to roughly 2500 RPM it cuts out and backfires. far as I know he changed to a skinny o2, Q45 MAF, and had the dist. out at some point. Sounds to me timeing. Maybe dist off a tooth or two. What are your opinions, and also were can i find the specs on this motor. Thank you

So you are saying you have an S15 Autech NA SR20DE? Your problem is the MAFS. You MUST use the SR MAFS unless you have an extra computer to run the Q45 MAFS. The ECU is in fail safe mode because it cant read the Q45 MAFS signal. If you want to run the Q45 MAFS then get something like an ApexI SAFC.

if I have to use a DE MAFS then does it have to be one from the s15 NA motor or can it be from any DE motor? And from the research I have done sounds like i got a slick lil N/A SR to play with thank you.

Im not sure which SR MAFS you will need but it should either be the S13 or S14 MAFS. The S15 SR20DET uses an S14 MAFS while NA S15 SR20DE's use S13 MAFS.
