I was driving to work a few mornings ago and ended up running over a rock (or possible road crease gone crazy bad). This ended up causing a pinch and small tear on the sidewall closest to the wheel. As of now, there is no air leaking, but knowing the damage is there annoys me, so.....
I ended up at Discount Tire Saturday morning and after some consideration left a deposit on a new set of rubber. Well technically one of 2 sets of rubber. I am torn between the BF Goodrich TA/KDW and the Dunlop Dirrezza D Star. My boy is gonna knock down the price, but either set will still run me just over $600 after taxes and install. That is not the issue. I am torn between the known performance and short lifespan of the Dunlop or the unknown but equally well regarded BFG. So basically my question is, is anybody running the BFG, and how does this particular tire wear?
I am going to be running a 235/40 R17 front and rear on 9" wheels if that matters. I generally drive like an old lady 90% of the time and my alignment settings allow for good even wear without rotation.
