I just traded one Infiniti M45 for another. My "old" M45 had 35k on it and I had it in to get the Element 114 cat back taken off before I traded it in. The shop ran the "accessories mode' for a little while while they changed out the exhaust. When I picked up that car, it was deader than a doornail and needed to be jumped.

Cut to my "new" Infiniti M45 that also has 35k on it. Twice in the last two days it has been dead on me. Once when I picked it up from getting my aero kit put on and then today after I had a couple of windows re-tinted.

I have an appointment tomorrow for a new battery. Has anyone else had these issues with the battery?

Infiniti batteries generally last 3-3.5 years in temperate to warm climate areas, like clockwork!!! After years of ownership, you learn to just replace it every 36.00 months on your time, before it dies on a rainy night, away from home!!!!

I just had to replace the original battery last month. According to the Carfax, it had been exactly 4 years since the car was first bought. That sounds about average.

An appointment for a new battery?

You're not really taking it in for that are you?

The 1gen M45 might be different, but the 2gen battery replacement isn't that straightforward. You have to remove some trim around the battery and there is almost no space around the battery which makes removal difficult. A lot of places will install the battery for free if you buy it from them, so why not?

I'll go with that. Free is pretty easy.

Ours has the engine cover, battery hold down and the black plastic case that surrounds the battery. All pretty easy to manage.

For the OP, just keep in mind that the person doing it for free is not going to take the time to not break other stuff ...if it truly is that much more complicated.

I've replaced the battery on my '06 M45 twice in the past two years. Both times Infiniti had difficulty diagnosing the problem. It wasn't until I was stranded multiple times that I pushed them to take the car overnight and run a thorough analysis. They did and each time the diagnosis was a bad battery cell. It didn't sit well with me that the same issue happened 1 year apart. I have a feeling that the battery compartment might not be properly insulated from NVH, and the area I drive in has some pretty rough roads.
