I have a 91 240sx se with super hicas(Im planning to disable it)

My choices were between the Sr20det and the Ca18det and im choosing the Sr20

My friends keep telling me dont go Sr20 but regardless of what they say im going to do it.I just want to do a basic sr20 swap and the mod list will look like this:

Preferebly a Blacktop s13 sr20detIntakeUsed catback exhaust systemHigh flow CatDownpipeWalbro fuel pumpStage 2 clutch kitFront mount intercoolerBlitz bovMotor mountsRocker arm stoppers

I just want to know is this a good basic setup?

Looks fine to me. Why a stage 2 clutch kit though on a pretty close to stock setup? Stage 1 at most IMO...

Well the reason for that is because incase I Want more horsepower later on I wont have to get another clutch.

The rocker arm stoppers have always seemed like filler for a mod list. Physics 101 teaches us that RAS will stop you from displacing rockers but some people have broken rockers as a result. Other than that a good starting list.

So basically what you are saying is that rocker arm stoppers are useless?

Do you use them?

I trust RAS for sure, i can see how they could break by hitting the stopper repeatedly but if youre in that high of rpms for that long then something is bound to happen.

Your setup looks good also think about buying a new wiring harness since the ones that come with the swaps are usually beat up(at least from my experiences). Ive got a surprise for SR owners coming up sometime in the near future. Basically an affordable SR harness thats brand new and made from scratch for the US chassis. It will be super clean and ready to go. Let me know if youre interested.

No I prefer to think of it as this. If you're going to use RAS, use them. If you're drifiting or something where maintaining high RPMs its worth it but for a Daily driver that doesn't see any real track duty its meh... Easy install to get your feet wet on though.

I dont plan to be drifting much it's going to be a daily driver with some occasional racing it's not going to be a track car.

I think it boils down to there being no real reason not to but no real reason to at the end of the day. I think it'd be money better spent on an oil pressure gauge.
