So my 99 q45 is having some starting issues. It starts most of the time but about once a day it takes two tries for it to start. It cranks over but wont start. Any ideas?

Or more likely its the starter going bad.

Periodic mainteance and dirtly TB and plenum, intake valves, spark plugs, weak coils, fuel pump pressure, injector leaking off pressure, bad E10 blended gasoline.

Lots of common defects when vehicles are not maintained to brand new condition.

When batteries are over 36 months.............what is exact battery voltage [to 2 decimal places] when you try to start. 12.20 discharged 12.80 fully charged depending on ambient temperature.

Any component 10 years old or older is always suspect.

ok well i figured it out...Its the the idle air control valve

So im gona pull it out and see if there is carbon build up and clean it out...if not its about a $450 part. Does anyone know if there is a compatible part from a nissan model to try to save a little cash?

How do you know thats the problem? Make sure cause its expensive and sensitive and you may cause some idle problems in the future.

Well the way the car was starting (or not starting) gave signs thats what it was.

I pulled it out and i had a lot of carbon build up....so i cleaned it out and cleaned the throttle body and know the Q runs like a champ.

I would seriously doubt any Nissan would be compat, however, try IOS (everthinginfiniti.com) for cheaper price then local.
