Well, just got back from a great month long vacation in New Zealand and Australia. Everyone should go there at least once in their lives. As promised, I took some pics of some cars that I found interesting. Hope you like them.Observations: First off, Nissan is but a crack in the pavement in Australia. Kind of sad actually, given the landscape of vehicles. There seem to be a lot of "prestige" cars there (BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, etc.), and there are also lots of AWD and crossovers there. Doesn't make sense not to see Infinti's. The g37, M35, FX35, Rogue, EX35 would do well there. There are also tons of Camry's, Corolla's, Accords, etc, and yet there is not a single Altima, Maxima or Sentra type vehicle from Nissan to be seen. I really think they are missing the boat here.Holden (GM) and Ford are also popular, and very competitive. You either love one or the other there. Reminds me of the Chev/Ford wars of the 60's and 70's here in North America. Both of them make some nice vehicles. Wish we could get them here. Unfortunately, neither company has the vision to do that. Instead, we get Malibu's and Taurus. Lastly, I saw some cars that I didn't get a shot of because I wasn't quick enough with the camera (e.g. saw a '58 Chev with right hand drive in really nice shape). Also, some shots I took from a moving tour bus, so excuse the quality.

QX4 by any other name:Aussie Pathfinder:

Looks like a G35 to me:Not a car, but still caught this thing taking off:

Not sure what this is, but it was cool:

Self explanatory:

Cool:

Ford Falcon XR6. I liked this car. Very popular:

Check out the snorkel:

Nice Skyline:

Going to a wedding, I think:

Aston Martin:

1963 Chev on Sydney freeway:

These are very popular here. Holden and Ford both make one.

Holden SS:

New Honda Civic Type R:

A little bling (Ford):

From the bus:

Holden GTS. Another favourite:

That's it for now. Thanks.

Very nice pictures, that SS is clearly a cousin to the Pontiac G8. I've always wondered what use that third mirror has on the QX4's abroad.

That is because in the rest of the word those cars aren't that special, they just spin them like that in America because we are chumps.

Yea, I really grew to like Holdens. The El Camino type in particular. They look like they are easy to mod, and I saw a few that had been really nicely done.Unfortunately, I wasn't always handy or quick enough with my camera to capture them all. I saw a really nice yellow V8 SS that had been lowered etc. Looked awesome. I was just too slow to react to get a picture of it.The other vehicle I really liked, but didn't see too many of, is the new Mitsubishi Triton pick up truck. You might be able to Google it to see what I mean. It looks great in person, up close. As usual, I missed several photo opportunities on that one too. Oh well. One last observation: Aussies really like to dress up their rides with custom rims. Much more prevalent than here. Maybe they have more disposable income for this stuff. Who knows.Take care.

A little bling (Holden):

This is actually a Ford. It's the model previous to the XR6 you like.

Hey, thanks for the clarification. It was hard to remember what was what when I got back home and looked at all the shots. I probably should have logged each picture to avoid confusion,,, but that would have been too easy. LOL.My memory isn't what it used to be.THX.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but I just realised that THIS EXACT CAR (exact rego plate) is the hire car I had in Queensland for a week while I was up there, getting married.

Strange coincidence......

That is so cool. You probably recognize the background then too: Coastal road, Port Douglas.Hope you had a good time there. We sure did.
