alright, here's my build thread... i'll seomwhat try and keep it on track.but i'll just skip everything to where i'm at...

i've NEVER pulled or done a motor swap. i've helped out, but never on my own.bunch of friends let me borrow stuff (hoist, stand, compressor) and a few other things to help me out.

i'm doing this all in my garage but have recently pulled/tore my mcl so things have slowed down a LOT since it's hard to maneuver now.

CAR.. no i do NOT have those wheels. haha.

STORY OF THE CAR AND WHY I'M SWAPPING IT_________-----------______okay... the car IS a twin turbo, the guy that had it before me had a 2+2 and liked the body more so he swapped his motor from the TT to the 2+2.that 2+2 got t-boned and parted out and the motor was bought as well.

so he put the NA motor back in this car. my 90' twin turbo.so i bought a TT motor. got it from a guy down south. says it has 29k miles on it.. i inspected the turbos and everything so far looks exactly like what he says. s***s MINT.

anyways... where i'm at..

i've got the old motor pulled out and the transmission dropped.drive shaft and all exahust is off as well.deleted the EGR. doing AIV delete soon.i want to replace ALL the vacuum lines on the car, does anyone know how much of each line i need at all? i don't wana buy a $80 kit on ebay when i can buy the line itself for cheap somewhere else.

also.. i'm really stuck here...how do i know what year pulley's to buy and belts and stuff?and injectors, o2 sensors..idk what to buy i'm confused with this right now.

HICAS --->deleting hicas... since i have the NA motor, do all i have to do is put the NA power steering pump assembly on? then take all the hoses off and out that run under the car.

or do i still need a eleminator bar?

also.. ecu wise...since he took out the TT motor he took the ecu, there is a ecu in the car but it's NA.i've read in the z1 na->tt swap that they can tune the na ecu to TT specs..can this be done for me and my situation?

any other suggestions you guys have for me that i should change while i have the motor out? and no i'm not upgrading turbos. haha

what else should be replaced tho? like rear main seal. also heard something about injector insulators or something?

parts i have now..kaminari sides and rear flushmount spoilerMR downpipes and test pipeshks hiper exhaust (will be for sale)stri gauges (boost, water temp, oil pressure)godspeed side mount intercoolers (huge)work equips 17x9+1 17x10+23

what i was thinking of getting:god speed rear suspension setup (upper control arms, toe arms, traction rods, pillow tension rods)

front upper control arms

i am not going to be tracking the car much, if at all. it's going to be my daily driver mostly.

all help will be GREATFUL.

don't have a camera so when i get pics of everything i'll post them up

There is no year specifics needed for pulley's if you want to and I would suggest it get a UD pulley and a OD waterpump pulley belt sizes depending if you go with stock or upgrade just ask the dealer to give you the proper belts with them. Injectors you need to find out if the new engine has the new style injectors or old style I would suggest upgrading to some larger injectors well your in there. If you have the old style you may want to consider switching to the new style a little more work and money but not terrible. You will need a ecu tune with the bigger injectors anyway so may as well get the ecu and everything set up all at once for the injectors and tt. I would replace the rear main seal well you have the chance and probably the oil pan gasket well the motor is out, if the engine was shipped on a crate you will probably need a new pan anyway.

yea i'm gona get a new oil pan.i just swapped over the NA power steering stuffs.i'll take off the plenum and check on those plugs.

when i wanted to order the UD pulley's and OD water pump pulley it asked me for what year i had so i was just makin sure..

so year doesn't matter for the pulleys?and then now sinc ei have the NA pump get the NA belt.

cool beans.

i was looking around.. but didn't seem to find any writeups on installing a hub/quick release and wheel setup.

it's prolly pretty straight forward... still waiting for the short hub and wheel to come in.

i want CF t-tops.or FRP.

amz doesn't seem to sell them anymore...does anyone make them?or know how much they were even?

You know, looking at the IPB on the website, there's not even a gasket listed... Same for the service manual. Now I'm confused... The only gasket that is listed is the front seal gasket...

hmmm never heard of gasket between transmission and motor.....never......metal to metal reduces slippage upon motor torque, and there is no fluids that fill the bellhousing ...so why a gasket?

to take the steering wheel off... remove the screws to the horn first they are on the back side of wheel facing the dash then you are going to need a wheel puller a\or a gear puller ...pretty easy stuff....

oh yeah the motor ecu change late 94 from 8 bit to 16 bit ....this should get you a little closer to finding out the year of your block...the block has a serial number below the head on the right side front maybe you could find a decoder on the net.......good luck

I've heard mixed opinions about ddmtuning HID's. I'm rocking carhidkits.com lights and haven't seen any fade from them or anything negative. They were pretty hard to get into the headlamp housings though. Just whatever you do, DO NOT go Xentec. I've heard wayyy too many horror stories about them.

i don't have the wheels.and that's cool.i guess it's a "different" style that i def wouldn't be interested in and def not for $3,000.

the wheels are on a rx7 locally.

i believe.
