Tire question for a minivan.

Sorry, this is kind of a general question. The tires on the van right now are 205/60/R15's and the rear tires are bald. I have 2 205/55/R15's that I can put on, but would they be better up front or still on the rear? Neither of these tire sizes are the OEM tire sizes which worries me a bit about the previous owner. Thanks for your help... that is... if you help.
