Ok so about 3 months ago i bought my first 240sx. Its a 1991 5spd with 163k but will most likely get a swap so wasnt concerned about the mileage, but i picked it up at what i thought was a steal at $900. it needed a a left fender for the body to be complete since the guy still had the bumper and right fender and headlight. plus it had the jdm 180sx seats so i just had to get it. i loved my low and slow vdub but it just had to go.

this was my vw, first car

Fresh off the trailer

Puttin in some work on the lift

Bad pic, suppose to be winking

ill be updating as i go along with the project, let me know what you guys think, feel free to give advice/suggestions i still need a color!

Nice find. What are you planning on swapping in? I paid the same for mine two days ago but its an auto looks clean though. Haven't seen a S13 with a colour I didn't like.. Except for green..

The fact you are talking about a VG30 swap (300zx engine) tells me that you haven't done much research. There are several better options. Most of them being KA-T (rebuild the current motor and turbo it), SR20DET, CA18DET, or the RB25DET. The SR is pretty user friendly.

the only reason i was thinking about the vg is becuase my friend has a z hes parting out and i could get it cheap, but the KA-T was an option thats on my mind i didnt post, and i do need a motor to rebuild for my automotive class at school but i dotn have money to do that right now so the stock motor will stay in there atleast until the spring time

Ever seen how cramped it is under the hood of a Z32? Imagine that in a 240... I'm not sure about you, but I like to be able to reach around the motor when I work on a project car. I'm not trying to discourage you. If you have the know how and the patience to do it. By all means, go for it if that's what you want. You can rebuild your KA pretty cheap. SRs can be had for around $2k. The wiring harnesses are easy to combine, and there are very few modifications that need to be done to fit it. Also a really huge aftermarket for them. Low budget build is going to pretty much stick you with an SR or KA-T. Either way, welcome to NICO, and I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay.

well i was looking on this website http://japandomesticmotor.com/...issan and i thought these swaps were kinda cheap, but i have no clue how much a rebuild + turbo would cost for the ka-t

ok well today my 240 finally got onto the road, so much different from driving a jetta. i couldnt beleive how smooth a 19 year old car could drive. now that blue fender has to get painted so im thinking about goin down to autozone and pickin up some spray paint for the time being just because winters coming so ill get the paint out of the way in the summer. pretty much just focusing on getting it to run mint and picking up some coils/wheels then and exhaust. if any one has a color theyd like to see tell me and id be glad to paint mine that color since i think a 240 looks good no matter the color
