Duh, I Did Not Know It Could Do That!

I went out to my garage and the windows on my 2008 G37 were down! I didn't roll them down!

Then I remembered I had my Smart Key in my pocket and the car alarm kept beeping because my leg was against a bar stool (I think they should redesign the key with concaved buttons). So, I turned the car on, rolled up the windows, turned the car off, locked it and then pressed and held the unlock button on the smart Key. Sure enough after 3 seconds the windows started rolling down! You have to hold the button down untill the windows are all the way down otherwise it stops when you let it go.

I've had the car for two years and just discovered this. I guess I should have read the quick reference guide, I now see it is in there. Cool!

Yup, and if you hold the lock button on the car you can get them to roll back up too.

For how long? I held my lock button on the smart Remote for 30 seconds, It locked the car, but that was it!
Maybe on the newer cars, not my 2008.

On the car, not the remote. It's set up that way so you don't sit on it and decapitate a child or something.

Well, I can't make it work. It makes sense not to have the remote roll up the windows, I set off my alarm almost every month by sitting on it.

I pressed and held the button on the outside door handle with the car locked and unlocked and it just unlocks or locks the car. I pressed and held the lock button on the inner arm rest and same thing, but no window action, bummer.

Here's a little tip, keep the remote in your front pocket

Thanks Doya, actually I keep it in my watch pocket, I wear jeans most of the time. Almost all of the nuisance alarms are because I'll lean on the counter or a desk and set it off.

So I dug some more and you have to turn the mechanical key in the door lock to get them to roll up. Kind of a pain in the a**, especially because he Lexus I was driving last week does it from the door button.

Who uses the door key in a G37?
