Getting ready to have the 30K service done on my 2006 M35 (32,500 mi - Just purchased 1 month ago...). Talked to local Infiniti service department who recommended the following:

1. Coolant Flush $129.952. Fuel Injection Service $129.95 (flush injection system, clean throttle body, reset idle)3. Change Differential Fluid $69.954. Change Air Filter $43 (plan on changing this myself - recommended brands?)

Kind of concerned he didn't recommend the ATF service as I have read other posts recommending this service to help extend life of transmission system.

Do these items sound correct and is the pricing in line with what you are seeing at your dealerships?

Is the fuel injection service really needed at this mileage?

1. I'd say go ahead with the coolant flush. It's always a good idea to prevent rust buildup. I have 34k on my M and I opened the radiator cap and found some rust already building up.2. Fuel injector service isn't really nessary if you use a good quality premium gasoline. 3. Go for it. When I did the diff oil myself at 29k it was all nasty looking. Always nice to have nice clean oil in it. 4. Basically a 1 minute job. Use the OEM air filter.

If you really wanna prolong the life of the transmission then go for the transmission fluid flush. I don't think a flush is really needed at this point. It can wait.

As far as the prices go it is very cheap considering what my dealer charges. They wanted $280 for transmission flush and $90 for diff oil change.

I don't disagree with any of these posting just wanted to put a bug in your ears. I heard that our PCV valves aren't very good at stopping the oil from going into the TB air intake areas of our 3.5s. That being said I would still recommend the TB, FI and Idle reset. I performed one on my car and it was like night and day for engine performance. I also noticed a slightly better gas milage.

On an unrelated note I switched to regular from premium so that's 87 from 91 and noticed a performance decrease, however, I do get 50 more KMS per tank lol. How does that make sense!

Remember V35 are returnless vs older designs so much much less gasoline flows by the injector screens so likely that less fouling and varnishing will occur over the same period.

Fuel injector cleaners may not be required as frequently as the 90's.

However E10 probably creates more deposits on intake valves so who knows the engine may require more cleaning.

A graph shows E10 is the worst and creates almost twice as much deposit as gasoline alone!

"Unfortunately, many of the chemicals that are effective fuel injector cleaners tend to increase valve deposits."http://www.teamrsm.com/files/E...s.pdf
