The same mods as any other sr swap. The wiring is a lot more difficult from what others say. Just send it out and have that part done professionaly.Just replace all the gaskets you can and get all the things you need instead of what you want. Search around at the build going on and read! That will help you the most.

wiringif you plan on keeping the 6spd transmission, then driveshaft and differential due to the speed sensor being built into the diff.

if your not going 6spd then

s13/s14 sr flywheel w/ clutch combos13/s14 sr transmission

The wiring for that is pretty difficult, im affiliated with a place thats experienced with the swaps though and if you want to get it done send me an email [email protected]

Its gauranteed to work and youll know its done right. Other than the wiring its basically the same as any other SR swap.

HUH???ummm....yea.....vtc has nothing to do with speed. VTC is switched on by oil pressure.

Don't even do it. It's not worth doing because it cost a lot more for just a little more performance. Just go with a red top and use the money that you save to mod it and make it way faster than the stock s15. Believe me i know i wish i didn't get the s15 its way to much of a hassle.

I say again:

NO SPEED SIGNAL = NO VTC on S15

Read it. Believe it.

You might want to back up your statement. I can see RPM affecting VTC but definately not speed. As RPM increases and in turn increases oil pressure to turn on VTC. The VTC solenoid is designed to switch on at a given pressure.

yeah mine works and my speed-o don't. I'm just saving to get the nismo 6 speed transmission instead of getting the s15 diff so i have a stronger trans and i can get my speedo to work. I know its expensive but its what i want so its what im going to get.

this is just my opinion but I think a nismo trans is a waste of money for the average person. Realistically, I would do z32 trans and then just get a dakota digital speed converter. Z32 trans are said to be bulletproof.

And lets be real....even though it is a nismo gearbox, you can't say it won't ever break. So what if it does? Then you are out of what?.....3-4,000 dollars. If you ever do break a z32 trans, you may be out 400 dollars at most.

Awesome, you know how to post a page from the FSM.

You guys see where it says engine speed.....this means RPM. It says it gets the signal from the cam angle sensor. The ECU reads RPMS from the CAS. NOTHING TO DO WITH SPEED SENSOR OR SPEED!!!!

so if i use the s15 six speed, could i use the stock s13 trans mounting and the stock s13 driveshaft if i stick with the stock s13 pumpkin? because i honestly dont care about having a speedometer. i could use a gps for that :)

(just trying to find out what id need to use as far as transmission mounting and driveshafts go
and when i get a little more money for stuff ill probably look into using the nismo six speed, but for now i just gotta use what ill be getting)
