It's not a laptop, I said I hooked my speakers up to my laptop just to make sure that they weren't the problem.MinisterofDOOM wrote:Since it's a laptop, check the laptop manufacturer's website for updated driver downloads.
A driver is basically instructions for your computer so it can communicate with what ever you are trying to install. In your case it will allow you PC to create the right signal so it can make sound with your speakers.Doya wrote:How would I re-install the driver I'm retarded when it comes to computers
You need to figure out what kind of sound hardware you have first off. Go Start > Run, and type "dxdiag" then go to the Audio tab (you can tell it no if it asks to access the internet). The Audio tab will show info about your sound hardware ("Device") and it's Drivers...including how new the driver version you're running is.Doya wrote:How would I re-install the driver I'm retarded when it comes to computers

From there, you can type or copy and paste the device name into Google and see what comes up. I have Soundmax HD Audio on my work machine, so I just google "Soundmax HD Audio driver" and a bunch of results turn up. Find a link to a newer version (either by date or version number) than the one you have and give it a try.
