I was thinking about using LED's for my turn signals, back-up lights, brake lights, ect.

Has anyone done this? If so, how does it look? Pictues?

Thanks in advance,

Bob

I have a set of HID's for lights and fog lights and a set of LED's for the turn signals. I would say it looks good, not perfect but good. I don't have a picture of the turn signals right now, I will take one in the evening for you. One thing that you must know is that if you get the LED's you are going to deal with fast blinking (sort of like when one of your blinking lights is out).

I have not changed the back lights to LED's, but I would only imagine that changing those will cause the "light not working" illumination on your dash board since Q41's don't like anything that's not OEM

Each one of these issues is easy to fix if indeed you want to run led's. I converted mine to all leds including the interior. No warning messages and with a special flasher all works fine. I must say the interior lights are amazing. The "instant on" that the led's have is quite nice too.

THat's great to hear. Do you think you can supply me with bulb sizes and/or types of the interior? THe map light and the door lights and bulbs. I am having a hard time finding their sizes. Even sylvania does not list them.

Thanks

What special flasher.....Ahhh, I need a special flasher? I need pictures! I found a few people selling auto led's on ebay.

I'm also a pinball collector, and in that forum, we're constantly talking about led's. The pro's, con's, problems, etc.

Sources for LED conversion bulbs:

AutoLuminationSuperBrightLEDsDealExtreme

(The rapid flashing problem is due to the fact that LEDs draw a lot less current than incandescent bulbs, which "fools" the vehicle's original flasher into "thinking" that a bulb has burned out. The typical solution is to install a power resistor in the same circuit as the LED bulb - The resistor draws enough extra current to keep the flasher from being "fooled". With the resistor installed, no special flasher is needed. Appropriate resistors are often sold by the same companies that sell the LED conversion bulbs.)

actually instead of installing four ressistors in your turn signals just install the flasher that the led sites sell. Save the resitors for your brake lights, parkering, etc. A flasher for leds is cheaper than four resisters. Assuming they have theflasher for your Y33, I have a G50.

to the op, I'm using LED's on my car now. I switched out the interior lighting to led's and I'm using led's on my license tag which looks great at night.

Honestly I can't remember but the bulb sizes are in the manual. I just bought the LED version of the halogen size. The only one that I had trouble finding were the front dome light size.
